Praying and Studying - Daily Life in the Monastic School
For classes/children from 8 years ,
with role playing and costumes
Guide: Marlies Müller
A fascinating tour starts in the Monastery museum. The items presented here mainly explain the living conditions in the monastery during the 16th century. The information of the guided tour is provided by means of imaginary letters written by the monastic student Daniel to his friend Tobias. How was life in an evangelical monastic school? How did the schedule of a monastic student look like? Which subjects were taught? What did people eat and drink at that time? How were they dressed? Which role played the different rooms in relation to the strict monastic timetable? The answers to these and other questions are provided in the letters and during the monastery tour. Then the newly-acquired knowledge can be used in role plays whereby pupils dress up.
